Philosophie Cleanse (part 2)

Philosophie 5 Day Cleanse

Yesterday marked the end of my Philosophie cleanse. I can’t tell you how great it was. After way too much fun in the holidays (i.e. food), it was fabulous to saturate my system with vitamins, minerals, hydration…it felt like pure energy!

I did have some headaches that seemed to come with the whole detox thing, but it wasn’t something unbearable.

I drank a lot of tea.

Teavivre Tea

Teavivre sent me some authentic  green tea straight from China, so that was fun to add to my cleansing beverages! So fresh tasting…

Day 4 of cleasnse

Friday’s menu ended up being a Cacao Magic smoothie for breakfast, kale salad for lunch, homemade soup for dinner, and cottage cheese with almonds for a snack. I also had some hot lemon and honey with cayenne pepper (my new favourite beverage!).

Day 4 of Philosophie Cleanse

On Saturday, my Mom and sister helped me move to the city, just for this semester. Most of you probably know already, but I’m studying Exercise Science at a college. I also had a blood test that day that I had to fast for (until 2 pm!), so with all the busy-ness I had a modified smoothie from a shop and then a big salad for dinner. I snacked on almonds and chocolate almond milk later on, when I was all settled in.

Last day of Philosophie Cleanse

Today I enjoyed using my new Magic Bullet to make a Green Dream smoothie for breakfast before church. Lunch was, again, a kale salad (yup, I’m in a rut). I had some apple w/ PB, a couple mandarins, and tea for a snack. Dinner was baked yam with coconut oil and chamomile tea.

I totally recommend this cleanse to anyone – the whole experience was really positive for me. Sophie is there to answer any questions at any time and the products/supplements she will send you along with the food plan (which, as you can see, is quite flexible) will speed along the detox and make it more effective. It was also nice to lose a couple pounds without too much effort. We’ll see if they stay off…but I’m not too worried as that wasn’t the point of the cleanse. I really wanted to refresh my tastebuds as to WHAT healthy food tastes like…and stop my holiday sugar splurge in it’s tracks.

Drink water

To help with the whole “cleansing thing”, I also took special supplements, drybrushed, took hot baths, drank cleansing tea, and did some oil pulling before I brushed my teeth. Oh, and LOTS of water! For a mega load of cleansing tips, check this post out!

I hope you enjoyed following my food diary the last couple posts! Stayed tuned for my next post because there’s something cool happening (think, my favourite product ever and then you winning it!).

If you’ve ever done a cleanse of some sort, tell me about it. What’s your favourite kind of tea? (I’m so obsessed with it right now!)

Hi there! I am ordering the Philosophie cleanse this week. I was debating between Sophie’s and Dr. Junger’s Clean Program. I did the Clean Program this past spring and it was fantastic too. I found your blog through a Google search. I cannot wait to receive it and your posts made me even more excited to complete it. The products look delicious! Thank-you for being my deciding factor!

Well since the holiday season is nearly over, my favorite tea may no longer be available, but I LOVE celestial seasoning Candy Cane Green Tea. Sure peppermint green tea is good, but really this tea is like drinking a candy cane with all the artificial nastiness. If you see it, snatch it up cause it’s delightful!

Good for you making it through your cleanse. I bet you do feel great. Can’t wait to see what your favorite product ever is.

I like the sound of this detox! I am going to have to look into learning a bit more about it. I have looked into several post-Holiday options, but they are all so lengthy and difficult to commit to at this beginning of a new semester crazy-hectic-time. Perhaps a detox like this would do the trick? I enjoyed following your journey here and through IG!

WHat was in your smoothie in your magic bullet? i just got one, but it doesnt seem to make smoothies easily.. i keep having to mix the ingredients with a spoon.

Priya~ Hmmm, sometimes you do have to blend it longer and keep the fruit/food added chopped small first. The smoothie in the Magic Bullet was mostly almond milk, coconut oil, Green Dream superfood, stevia, and some Greek yogurt.
