Colourful People: Ex-Victoria’s Secret Angel Kylie Bisutti

Kylie Bisutti

I’m ridiculously excited to introduce to you another Colourful People interview. I was perusing on Facebook a few months ago, and I saw an article posted about an Victoria’s Secret Angel who quit one of the most coveted modeling positions in the world, because of her faith. Intrigued, I read the article and was so inspired by this model, who was willing to give up worldly success because it violated her Christian faith and the Bible’s teachings about modesty.

This girl is brave. Wow. Personally, I just was so inspired by this beautiful woman who gave it all up because she wanted to honour God with her life, rather than pursue fame and success. She also just wrote a book called “I’m No Angel” where she shares her journey, where she came from, and how she got to where she is now. This gal is just one enormous blessing!

So here’s Kylie, I’m so happy that she wanted to be a part of this interview!

First of all, can you share a bit of your story and why you left being a model for Victoria’s Secret?

I started modeling at the age of 14 and by the time I was 19 I had become a high profile lingerie model. At this point in my life God started convicting my heart about posing in provocative ways and He showed me that it was not honoring to Him or to my husband. So I ended up leaving the modeling industry as a whole to live my life for the Lord and pursue being a better wife and role model.

Your favourite to-go meal?

If I want to be healthy…Yogurt with berries and granola. I especially like the ones at Starbucks! If I want to splurge… In N’ Out burger (grin).

Best snack?

Cheese and salami.

What’s your typical workout routine look like?

I like to do a lot of weight training and resistance training. I usually use workout DVDs and mainly focus on my legs, glutes, and abs.

Do you have a favourite beauty secret?

Washing your face with an oil cleanser regardless of your skin type. This is the way I keep my skin clear of acne, getting too dry, or too oily.

How do you keep yourself motivated to be fit?

I just have to remind myself A LOT how much better I feel mentally and physically when I am staying active and working out.

What’s your secret to living a happy and fulfilled life?

Putting Christ first in my life and looking to Him for my security and confidence rather than to myself or what anyone else thinks of me.

Tell me about your clothing line and your new book!

I wrote my book I’m No Angel, to share my story about how I went from being very insecure and following my worldly desires to being very happy, confident, and fulfilled after God changed my heart and I started living my life for Him and seeing myself the way He sees me. God Inspired Fashion is a Christian clothing line that I’m involved with that had fashionable clothing with scriptures on it for men, women, and children!
