I like to rinse with watered down apple cider vinegar about once week or so, it makes my hair soft, full and shiny. and to use less plastics I alternate between a shampoo bar (from esty) and burt’s bees shampoo & conditioner. going to bring the baking soda/ no poo method back into the mix as well.

My favorite tip comes from my stylist-when blow drying, keep flipping the hair back and forth to give it volume. I wear side bangs, so I actually don’t blow dry them in the same direction that I want them to lay. I go the opposite way and this helps tremendously!

I never blow dry, and very rarely straighten or curl my hair. I have naturally dry/coarse hair and I realized how damaged it was becoming so I quit using so many styling products and my hair has been looking and feeling much better!

  6. Jade

My favorite tip is really simple…try not to wash your hair everyday! I find that unless you’re prone to very oily hair, allowing 2-3 days before shampooing keeps your hair much more nourished and healthy-looking!

  7. Debbie@ Live from La Quinta

I’m afraid I don’t do anything special for my hair (hopefully that doesn’t show). I do try to skip a day of washing now and then because I think that is good for it.

To make sure I keep length in my hair with no breakage, I braid my hair every single night so it doesn’t break off!

  13. Kamaile

I get my hair trimmed every 7 weeks & only blow dry it a couple times a week.

My hair is short and dry, so I just brush it as it dries naturally, avoiding the blow dryer and working some natural oils back in feom the scalp. I don’t get as much as people with long hair but brushing frequently as it dries achieves the same. I also use a deep conditioner once a week or so

Try not to wash your hair everyday. If you color it, the color will last longer.

My tip? To cut them even 1 centimeter each 1 or 1.5 month. They will look healthier and much happier ;-)

I like using olive oil to condition my hair once a week. It provides instant shine and silkiness!

  34. Katie

I don’t wash every day and try to do a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week. Great giveaway!

  35. Amanda H

Wash your hair less! If you wash it every single day, it forces your scalp to produce more oil.
