Come on, I know you&#8217;ve heard it\u2026over and over. Eat more salads. Drink green juice. Have you tried green smoothies? Eat your peas\u2026all of them. Drop the cookie\u2026eat a lettuce leaf instead.<\/p>\n<p>Though, I\u2019m not sure<!--more--> I will ever give up my now-and-then-cookie (especially if they are a healthy version!) in exchange for a head of Romaine, I\u2019m all for the green goodness! The more the better. I used to be in the habit of green smoothies <em>every<\/em> morning and often, salads for lunch, and then another salad with dinner. I was the \u201cGreen Queen\u201d and then, gradually, I just sort of fell away from it. I guess something I should get more \u201cin the habit\u201d with, but hey\u2026I like the flexibility of having oatmeal or an egg on toast if I so feel like it. I always forced myself to eat healthy foods whether I wanted to or not\u2026which I suppose is good, but I think you lose a lot of the pleasure of food too. Now I\u2019m a lot more balanced\u2026but I do know that I need more greens in my life. Besides, who wouldn&#8217;t want Popeye\u2019s ripped arms?<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I made this for lunch and I loved it so much. I paired it with a small helping of pasta and it was just the perfect mid-day meal. I used barely any oil and just used spices for flavour, so it\u2019s extremely low calorie. Warm a cast iron skillet on medium heat. Lightly mist the skillet with olive oil. Add the veggies. Add garlic. Then, once everything is cooked add the spices. This recipe is super simple\u2026you don\u2019t even have to listen these boring instructions. Use your own intuition. Add your veggies. Cook. Steam. Boil. Whatever\u2026sprinkle on whatever sounds good to you. It was just a short, 3 miler, but it felt so good. I\u2019m really looking forward to doing more strength training with some DVDs and books, not just running.
