For the new Colourful Palate reader, the <a title=\"Star Recipes\" href=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/category\/star-recipes\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cStar Recipes\u201d<\/a> feature is where I highlight a recipe from another blogger or recipe book (with permission of course!) that I dig so much I have to pass on the love!<\/p>\n<p>Several years ago, when I was still doing <!--more-->school, I used to make homemade kombucha and tried downing small sips during my math lessons. I knew how good it was for me, but sometimes I had trouble drinking it. Eventually, my kombucha brewing hobby got tiresome and my kombucha mushroom was thrown in a bush. Once in a while, if I can find a place that sells it\u2026I\u2019ll get <a title=\"Grape Synergy Kombucha\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/13AWR9x\" target=\"_blank\">Synergy kombucha<\/a> (grape is my favourite!). People, if you\u2019re into pop\/soda and trying to get out of the habit, THIS will do it! It\u2019s fizzy, sweet, and oh-so delicious.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4841\" alt=\"Whole Foods to Thrive Book\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Whole-Foods-to-Thrive-Book-510x362.jpg\" width=\"510\" height=\"362\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Whole-Foods-to-Thrive-Book-510x362.jpg 510w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Whole-Foods-to-Thrive-Book-1024x728.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Whole-Foods-to-Thrive-Book.jpg 1518w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While kombucha is great by itself, I found this recipe in <a title=\"Brendan Brazier\" href=\"http:\/\/myvega.com\/team\/brendan-brazier\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brendan Brazier\u2019s<\/a> book <a title=\"Whole Foods to Thrive\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/17O2LoQ\" target=\"_blank\">Whole Foods to Thrive<\/a> (which the kind folks at <a title=\"Vega\" href=\"http:\/\/myvega.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vega<\/a> sent me and gave permission for me to copy) and it just made this beverage oh-so-much more divine. I tweaked the recipe a bit so it was lower in sugar, but here it is! Serves 2.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipeTitle\">Kombucha Mojito<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe\">\n<li>1\/2 cup fresh mint (I used a mixture of spearmint and peppermint)<\/li>\n<li>3 tbsp. lemon juice, freshly squeezed<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp. orange juice, freshly squeezed<\/li>\n<li>2 cups grape kombucha*<\/li>\n<li>Ice<\/li>\n<li>Mint leaves, for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i>*Or any other fruit flavour<\/i><\/p>\n<p>First, make sure to wash the mint well. Muddle the mint, lemon juice, and orange juice together to release that lovely mint flavour. You can strain the juices and pour into two glasses filled with ice or do what I did and just leave that lovely mint in each glass. Pour a cup of kombucha into each glass. Garnish with a little more mint.
