Personally, if I don&#8217;t pack a lunch, not only will I end up starving&#8230;this will tempt me to buy <!--more-->the first thing I see.<\/p>\n<p>In December, I had forgotten to bring my lunch to college, and I was starting to feel so hungry that I was sure my stomach was eating itself. At that point, I&#8217;m also feeling like I&#8217;m walking on air, I&#8217;m feeling dizzy, and I&#8217;m bumping into things. <em>Note: I do not do well when I&#8217;m hungry. Seriously. You don&#8217;t want to know.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I see a vending machine and decided to &#8220;just look&#8221;. First thing I see: Peanut M&amp;Ms, something I really, really like. I know it&#8217;s not really going to help my hunger too much&#8230;but I&#8217;m about to die (so I think), so it&#8217;s an emergency. I had a toonie, and the machine wanted exact change, so bye-bye to my M&amp;M dream.<\/p>\n<p>Lucky escape, I guess. (still slightly bitter about it, haha)<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, since then I&#8217;ve been a lot more careful to pack my lunches. I can also get really nauseous if I don&#8217;t eat&#8230;so it&#8217;s even more important to be prepared.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of my FAVOURITE things to pack for my lunches:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardboiled eggs<\/strong> &#8211; nature&#8217;s perfect food with 7 grams of protein, vitamins, and healthy fats. Amaaazing. Their ingredient list is short and readable because everything is natural! The folks at <a title=\"Kind Snacks\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kindsnacks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kind Snacks<\/a> were so sweet to send me a bunch of their flavoured bars. Oh. My. Word. Hello amazing. They taste ridiculously good and they&#8217;re ridiculously good for you. I&#8217;m also loving their <a title=\"Dark Choc nuts sea salt kind bar\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kindsnacks.com\/dark-chocolate-nuts-sea-salt.html\" target=\"_blank\">dark chocolate and sea salt flavour<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3951\" alt=\"Kind Bar Obsession\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Kind-Bar-Obsession-510x352.jpg\" width=\"510\" height=\"352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Kind-Bar-Obsession-510x352.jpg 510w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Kind-Bar-Obsession-1024x707.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Kind-Bar-Obsession.jpg 1564w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Why, yes&#8230;I&#8217;ll eat you. Actually, the <a title=\"Apricot Almond Bar\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/UVVbbr\" target=\"_blank\">apricot bar<\/a> is what I had after leg day at the gym today.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m keeping a couple of these hidden in my backpack so I don&#8217;t run into another M&amp;M &#8220;emergency&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Herring<\/strong> &#8211; it&#8217;s instant protein (and you know how I feel about that!). These <a title=\"Seafood Snacks\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/11nu1fn\" target=\"_blank\">seafood snacks<\/a> come in lots of yummy flavours (I love the hot one!) and are low in calories and carbs. Plus, they&#8217;re only like a dollar each!<\/p>\n<p><em>Just bring your toothbrush or some mints so you don&#8217;t smell like fish!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3950\" alt=\"Herring Fillets for school snacks\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Herring-Fillets-for-school-snacks-510x340.jpg\" width=\"510\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Herring-Fillets-for-school-snacks-510x340.jpg 510w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Herring-Fillets-for-school-snacks-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Herring-Fillets-for-school-snacks.jpg 1620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Raw fruits and veggies<\/strong> &#8211; this one is a no brainer, however&#8230;it&#8217;s probably the best snack you can possible pack. Pair the veggie with hummus and dip your fruit into some Greek yogurt and it&#8217;s even better!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3948\" alt=\"Fruits and veggies for college snacks\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Fruits-and-veggies-for-college-snacks-510x340.jpg\" width=\"510\" height=\"340\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Fruits-and-veggies-for-college-snacks-510x340.jpg 510w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Fruits-and-veggies-for-college-snacks-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.colourfulpalate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Fruits-and-veggies-for-college-snacks.jpg 1620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 510px) 100vw, 510px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Protein powder<\/strong> &#8211; I work out at the college gym pretty much every time I&#8217;m there, so I try to bring a scoop or two or protein powder in a Ziploc baggy to throw in my <a title=\"Blender Bottle\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/V1FVr0\" target=\"_blank\">BlenderBottle<\/a> after I&#8217;ve killed my workout. It&#8217;s also a great mid-afternoon snack to keep your energy\u00a0 levels up.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and of course, we need to end this post with a little something sweet.
