On those cold, dark fall mornings there was just no breakfast that was cozier!\u00a0 It\u2019s just the best autumn breakfast ever \u2013 it makes waking up early much less painless.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also low calorie, low fat, and <!--more-->super nutritious! Thanks Mom for letting me share this family favourite with you all! It\u2019s just too good not to pass around! It serves 16 so this is a perfect breakfast or brunch recipe to have when company is over.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"recipeTitle\">Classic Baked Oatmeal<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"recipe\">\n<li>4 eggs, beaten<\/li>\n<li>2 cups milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup applesauce<\/li>\n<li>1-1\/2 cups brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>4 teaspoons baking powder<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons sea salt<\/li>\n<li>6 cups quick oats<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Stir the eggs, milk, oil, and applesauce together in a bowl. Set aside. Stir the sugar, baking powder, salt, and oatmeal together.<\/p>\n<p>Add wet ingredients to the dry and gently stir just until mixed. Serve warm.<\/p>\n<p>To save time, another alternative is to make the batter the night before. Pour in pan and refrigerate overnight. That way, when you get up in the morning you can just stick it in the oven while you get ready for the day.
