A couple weeks ago LoveTrueNatural<\/a> sent me some all natural self-tanning products to try out. Honestly, I was a little nervous about it.<\/p>\n

The first time I used self-tanner (almost 10 years ago) was a disaster. I was a teenager and I found some leftover tan towlettes in the bathroom. There was a family Christmas party that night and I thought it\u2019d be fun to try. Stupid.<\/p>\n

Word of wisdom: Don\u2019t randomly self-tan in the middle of winter \u2013 when you’ve never done it before \u2013 much less on the night of a party.<\/p>\n

I had no idea how to use it, but I was of the opinion that more is better. At the party, the \u201ctan\u201d darkened until my cousins wondered what was wrong with me and why were the palms of my hands orange (oh, you\u2019re supposed to wash your hands after?). Well, I wasn’t a delightful golden tan like I expected. I was orange. I looked like I had rolled in a bag of Dorito chips. Let\u2019s just say I was the source of amusement that evening as I got more and more orange.<\/p>\n

So now you can imagine my trepidation about trying self-tanner again, years later\u2026that, as well as the fact that I just like to be outside and get a real tan. You know, one that doesn’t make me look like an Oompa Loompa.<\/p>\n

I would never use a tanner that used chemicals. That totally frightens me. I like to use natural products\/makeup\u2026and I do not want any creepy elements absorbed into my skin. No thanks.<\/p>\n

I never thought I\u2019d say this, but I like self-tanner. Well, this kind. It\u2019s even good for you and has antioxidants in it like organic cupuacu butter, organic green tea extract and organic aloe vera…sounds good to me, although I have no idea what cupuacu is. Sounds healthy.<\/p>\n

It also smells quite nice because of the essential oils\u2026none of that nasty chemical smell.<\/p>\n

What I liked best about it is the colour. It looks exactly like the colour I normally tan. This is where the major thumbs up come in. Nor did the colour streak.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a before and after photo of me after using it on my face for just two days.<\/p>\n

So it\u2019s quite light, but just gives you that healthy glowing look. Of course, you can build the tan up as much as you want, but I just wanted a hint of colour. I found it also really moisturized my skin.<\/p>\n

Excuse the photos, the \u201cbefore\u201d pic was taken right after a workout and the \u201cafter\u201d pic was taken probably 40 times, because I was trying to get a picture where I didn’t look so tired. Well, that\u2019s as good as it got.<\/p>\n

I’m one of those people that think a light tan is healthy (baking in the sun and burning is NOT – everything in moderation). However, I think it’s really nice to have this product on hand on days when I look like my “before” picture. People have asked me if I’m ill….because I can tend to look really pale…which I don’t really appreciate.<\/p>\n
